Key Objectives of the Programme

  • A framework for preparing a critical mass of teachers who are highly capable, passionate and who can be the leaders and change makers
  • A working model for practice based teacher education program that serves as an example for transforming teacher education in the country
  • Teacher education and school transformation becomes a cohesive whole
  • Opportunities for schools/districts to capitalize on the expertise of their best teachers as mentor teachers and teacher educators; build a pathway for effective teachers to stay in teaching and effect change from the classroom without leaving their classrooms.
  • Leverage for school reform that systemically focuses on improving school conditions that promote high quality teaching and high levels of student learning.
